Opening a Lash Studio (5): Consumables & Restock

Equipment is one-time; consumables are forever. This is the bucket you'll reorder every month for the life of your business, so even a small per-unit difference compounds into real money over a year. It's also the bucket where quality and inspection matter most — bad glue or off-spec trays cost you clients, not just dollars. This is Part 5, the final part of the series.

Lash trays — your range

Your working stock of curls (C, CC, D, etc.), lengths, and thicknesses, in classic, easy-fan, and promade as you offer them. Buy the range you actually use, not every option. Korean PBT fiber holds curl and looks natural; consistency tray-to-tray is what you're paying for. This reorders constantly, so per-tray cost adds up fast.

Adhesive — never cheap out here

Your most important consumable, full stop. Cure speed, retention, and freshness matter more than saving a dollar. Buy adhesive you trust, in quantities you'll use before it ages — old or low-grade glue causes poor retention, and poor retention loses clients. This is the one line item where "cheapest" is the wrong call.

Tweezers — buy good ones

Isolation and volume tweezers. Good ones hold their tip alignment and last; cheap ones frustrate you and slow you down. A small number of quality pairs beats a drawer of bad ones.

Pads, tape, primer, cleanser

Under-eye gel pads, sensitive tape, primer, lash cleanser/shampoo, and bonder/sealant as you use them. Steady reorders, low individual cost, big cumulative savings when sourced direct instead of bought in ones and twos at US retail.

Disposables — where US retail hurts most

Micro brushes, mascara spoolies, lip wands, glue rings, under-eye tape strips. These cost almost nothing at the source and drain you when bought retail in small packs. Buying disposables direct in bulk is one of the clearest savings in the whole business.

Inspect before it ships — this is the point

Here's why sourcing the right way matters most on consumables: you reorder constantly, so a bad batch repeats the damage. Every order we send is photographed under a macro lens and approved by you before it ships — you see the actual trays and glue batch, not a stock photo. If something's off, you decide: approve, replace, or refund. With consumables, that's not a nice-to-have; it's what protects your retention and your reputation.

Your monthly lash restock cycle, with macro inspection before every shipment

Build your monthly restock list once, reorder in minutes

The smart move: set your standard restock list once, and reorder it on a schedule. Predictable supply, no last-minute scrambles, and the per-unit savings working for you every single month.

That's the series. From your first bed to your monthly glue order, the idea is the same: source the physical goods from where they're made, see exactly what you pay, and inspect before it ships.

That's the full 5-part series. See all guides.
