Lash Extension Service · Part 1

Lash Extension Service, Step by Step (1): Welcome & Prep

A great set of eyelash extensions is won or lost before the first lash goes on. The welcome, the hygiene, the consultation, and the prep decide retention, comfort, and whether she rebooks. This is Part 1 of a 3-part walkthrough — and the lash supplies behind every step.

The booking & the welcome

It starts before she arrives: a simple booking flow, a confirmation, aftercare expectations set early. When she walks in, the room should feel calm and clean — a diffuser, soft music, a tidy lash station with your trays and tools laid out.

Hygiene first — non-negotiable

Lash work is millimeters from the eye. Fresh bedding with an elastic, washable, dustproof lash bed cover per client, a clean pillow and blanket, a tweezer disinfectant for your isolation and volume tweezers, fresh micro brushes and swabs, and hand sanitizer in reach. A spotless station sells your professionalism before you start.

The consultation & style choice

Agree on the look before you touch a lash: curl (C / CC / D), length, thickness — classic, hybrid, or volume lashes. A lash style chart and a handheld lash mirror make it fast and professional, with your lash trays on hand to show real fibers.

Prep — clean the canvas

Retention lives here. Cleanse the natural lashes with a lash shampoo or foam cleanser and a soft cleansing brush to strip oil and makeup, rinse, and dry with a lash fan. Place under eye gel pads, secure stray lower lashes with lash tape, then apply primer to prep for the adhesive. Skipping prep is the number-one cause of early fallout — and early fallout means she doesn't rebook.

Why this stage is mostly sourceable

Welcome and prep is almost all consumables and small tools — lash shampoo, cleansing brushes, primer, micro brushes, swabs, gel pads, tape, bed covers, mirrors, style charts. Bought one at a time at retail it drains your margin; sourced direct — and custom-branded where it shows, like cleansing brushes, bed covers, and aftercare cards — it costs a fraction and looks more professional.
